Carl Rogers is a very interesting guy. I’d very much like to meet him and discuss life with him over a beer. He’s most well known for inventing person centered therapy. But how he came to that is much more interesting to me. See he was born and raised on a farm. He was very bright and went to school but didn’t like it much. He was religious and went to study religious studies. But after getting deeply into it he left. But then he went out and tried to help people and invented a new way of doing so. His new concepts on psychology and personal therapy have been widely adopted and helped many people. You could easily argue he did more to help people and to make the world a better place by not becoming a priest or a reverend. It goes to show that religion certainly does not have a monopoly on good works.
